Jeff has been an employee at Discount Tire Outlet for the past 3 years, and one advantage to having a small business, is the close friendships that you build. The ones where your employees are not just employees, they become family. Jeff has struggled with migraines for as long as I can remember. About a month ago, he went to the hospital to get a CT scan of his brain, and they ended up finding tumors in his lungs. They, at first, opted to do surgery, but when a cyst was found on his brain, they decided to address the cyst first, since they had said that his cancer was only at stage 1/2 at the time. A few weeks later, Jeff went back into the hospital for a severe sinus infection and face swelling. They couldn't explain why this was happening, so an exploratory surgery was done to try and find the cause of the swelling; more bad news was determined. He had a rare form of cancer all throughout his nasal cavity. After much more testing, they also discovered cancer in his brain tissue, bones, and several other places making it now in stage 4. Jeff is currently undergoing radiation at Cleveland Clinic where he and his wife have to make the journey up there once a day for the next ten weeks. Once his radiation is complete, they will then consider chemo.  

Jeff does not have medical insurance, and shortly after his diagnosis, he had to quit his job with us to sign up for an assistance plan. Our goal is to help raise some money for him and his family's expenses. Though it is only a drop in the bucket toward his medical expenses, the money will be helpful for gas to and from Cleveland Clinic, and also any other expenses they have: housing, food, cost of living, etc.

We will be raffling off a $100.00 gift card to Oliver Garden.  The raffle will run through July, and the winner will be picked on July 31st, 2013. Tickets are $5.00 a piece.
